With a 16,000 square foot location in River North, Studio III needed a creative solution on a budget to give their huge space a splash of color and soul. Directional signage was also needed to help guests navigate their cycle, yoga and interval studios separated by each floor. The solution: bringing the outside in with a series of custom photoshoots connecting Chicago’s most vibrant murals with their energetic instructors. This solution served as murals for the space, marketing material, and a versatile way to evolve the brand with more shoots + thematics + instructors over time. The result: what was once a brand in question with keeping their first location alive, Studio III is thriving with their second location opening its doors in Lincoln Park Winter ‘19.

Groupon’s B2C and B2B partnerships have engaged thousands of guests over multi-day festivals to more intimate private events nationwide. These activations provided an memorable marketing platform to promote Groupon as well as partner with likeminded, influential brands.

Formally a high-end southern restaurant, the group behind Carriage House shut it’s doors for a month to reconcept. The mission was to completely rework the brand and interior to better serve and connect with the youthful night scene of Wicker Park. What was once a dated and low traffic interior, almost overnight became a memorable bustling space with a nostalgic, eclectic style. Months into the reconcept Buck’s served some pretty memorable guests, including Beyonce + JayZ.

As the first fast casual poké bowl shop to hit the Midwest, our brand direction was clear from the get go: pay homage to tropical Hawaiian origins with a modern, millennially-driven twist through its’ voice and aesthetic. Like many startups, Aloha was a scrappy, American pipe dream that launched on less than 20k and quickly became a big fish in a small pond. Based upon their success out of the floodgates, they received a seven figure expansion investment upon the first year. Two years in, they’ve opened 12 locations in 5 markets throughout the US.

Groupon’s festival partnerships have engaged thousands of guests over multi-day events nationwide. These playful activations provided an organic marketing platform to promote Groupon as a source of local discovery. Guests have had the opportunity to engage in our space, activate with our brand onsite, take home custom swag along with exclusive Groupon deals.

We had the pleasure of bringing JHud’s 33rd birthday to life at a small private venue in her hometown of Chicago for her family and friends. The musically inspired 33 lockup was dispersed on everything supporting the event leading up to and on-site.

Deeply rooted in each community they serve, STOKED works to close the opportunity gap and prepare underserved, inner-city students for what’s ahead by partnering them with inspiring, entrepreneurially-driven mentors. As a centralized digital platform that provides event services from planning to execution, the mission was to create a brand system that universally connects creative workhorses. The solution: bringing to life the most iconic and relatable tools used online and offline since the beginning of time: a pen/cil. Post launch the EventWork continues to grow its network nationwide.

Give A Shirt is a Chicago based charity that partners with Streetwise and 20 local artists to make limited edition hand-screened tees sold at our annual holiday popup on Michigan Ave. and on its site giveashirt.net year round. Every dollar raised helps to employ, feed and house the ambitious hearts behind Streetwise. The brand system is designed to let the creative wearables do most of the talking, neural in color with a subtle yet powerful. The double read is a bold call-to-action prompting Chicagoans to simply give a shi*t about giving back to their locals in need. The first year gained momentum cutting a check to Streetwise for 7k and has quickly has grown with a third year that rounded that bend to nearly 50k.

Aviato Eats introduced Chicagoans to acai bowls the same way Aloha Poke Co. did with raw fish bowls. Acai, a Brazilian “superfood,” is often found at juice bars and smoothie shops. The brand name was inspired by taking ight to tasting some of the world’s most unique fresh fruit and ingredients including acai straight from Brazil. Aviato Eats enticed morning commuters with complimentary Limitless coffee to pair with their morning bowls.

Based out of Teton Valley, Idado, Elevated Surfcraft is a unique range of boards inspired by swell and crafted for snow. The ask was to bring their brand’s soulful personality alive through a ‘shaka’ hang loose hand; a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii, and surf culture. They were thrilled when all worlds came together with the final mark of an oversimplified shaka, mountain lines within the crease of each finger, an ocean line at the base and sun shining down.

Groupon Restaurant Week is an annual cross-platform merchandising campaign that highlights the hottest restaurants Groupon+ and voucher businesses have in their inventory. Its annual ROI has proven to heighten engagement cross platform for the brand at large. It also serves as a great opportunity to depart from the brand guidelines of lifestyle photography and create something fresh and memorable.

Groupon has always given back in a big way to their employees over the holidays. This particular year we made the ballroom glow with decadence for our 7th anniversary 007 theme. Complete with custom everything: red carpet, casino games, VIP lounges, photo stations, Bond girls, surprise Salt N’ Pepa headliner, vault-inspired open bar and late night bites.

Contribution: partnered with one event planner and production team to see through activation from start to finish with employee engagement strategy, design concept to executation, production prep and on-site art direction.

O’Neil Group is a real estate team based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The mission was to more closely align with the beauty and polish of their client’s homes and compliment it with a midwestern nod to the ‘land of 10,000 lakes’. We took and ran with the O’, extending it to all kinds of nostalgic Minnesota phrases throughout the supportive material.
